“Marnie created an amazing Michelangelo themed tour of Italy for our book club. She offered us books, articles, videos, and cultural tidbits throughout the planning period to whet our appetites and build background knowledge. Her communication before the trip was incredibly thorough, including a themed dinner to give us a taste of the culture, and answer logistical questions around the upcoming trip.

Once there, we enjoyed excellent hotels, preplanned five-course dinners at authentic, local restaurants, and private tours with expert guides that led us past the long lines at popular sites. We felt like VIPs! Our guides were especially adept at steering us to the must-see art and artifacts, particularly those that aligned with our Michelangelo theme. We learned so much from them and enjoyed listening to the stories and history behind the places we visited.

All details were taken care of for smooth traveling and allowed us to fully enjoy and be present for the experience. One of the best parts of having a travel guide like Marnie was how well all the behind the scenes logistics were taken care of for us. We were literally whisked from one place to the next seamlessly.

Content-wise, we got a unique peek into Italian culture. One highlight included a trip through Tuscany where we learned about Siena’s Palio and visited a winery to tour, taste and dine. We were treated to the best cuisine…Florentine steaks, a private meal in a chef’s house, and a sample of Roman specialties in a cooking class that was both fun and educational. Even during our free time Marnie pointed us in the right direction geared toward our interests, whether it was to shop for a leather bag or hit another historical site.

More than anything, we all appreciated how thoughtfully the trip was planned from start to finish. We would have missed so much had it not been for Marnie’s exceptional skills and knowledge base.
